Price Increases due to tariffs
Here at SFR we have always done everything possible to maintain the best prices for our customers, and very rarely raise prices. However due to massive cost increases in response to recent events, we simply have no other choice. We are not be implementing broad, fixed percentage increases, as we don't think that is fair. However we have been evaluating our costs, item by item and adjusting prices accordingly.
Now we'd like to be clear here, all SFR products are made in the USA, and the vast majority of our materials come from domestic sources. However some of our products contain components that are imported, and some materials used in products we make in house are simply not available from domestic sources. As an example, the 7075 aluminum used in our steering and suspension kits is not available from domestic mills, and our price has gone up 56% since the start of 2025. In addition, the price of domestic materials like steel closely track the price of the same imported material, so while we may not be paying an actual tariff on these materials, we are paying higher prices as a direct result of tariffs on imported goods. As a result our expenses have gone up significantly.
Raising prices is not something we take lightly, and not something we enjoy doing. We know that many of our customers are very cost conscious. Unfortunately these are circumstances outside of our control as a small business. Raising prices due to these increased costs actually hurts us, as the price increases only account for our costs and not any increase in actual profit, meanwhile we expect these higher prices to decrease sales as some customers simply cannot afford the increase.
These new tariffs are a controversial political issue, and as a business we do not like to comment on politics directly, but in this case there's simply no way to ignore what has happened in 2025. Tariffs and general market upheaval and uncertainty are the direct cause of our cost and price increases, and they are hurting our business and many other small American businesses and our customers. We hope that you will continue to support us and other small American businesses as we navigate these difficult times.
Thank You.
